Today I worked with Salcador and Moe because I was covering for Chris James. I felt sorry for Moe and Chris because I had an interview with the new manager and chatted with Salvador a lot. He’s a cool guy who is half Spanish and English and studying tourism so he learns foreign languages. Both of us agree that English coffee is too artificial and they don’t do recycle. He also likes Harry Potter, knows about David Dao and knows all about Japanese comics and cartoons. He even likes a volleyball cartoon which I like very much. Wow!! I can’t stop talking with him.
I also got an email from the travel agency. Miss Wang said in July all the seats are unavailable. OH MY GOODNESS!! I really want to go back to Taiwan. I can’t stay in Europe for a long time because the English VISA is until the end of July and I can only stay in Schengen countries for 16 days. It’s really a big problem.
My interview:
1. I got confused with what volunteers should help disable people with. This was his first to have volunteers and he didn’t know what the volunteers for. Sometimes I felt like a servant or waitress. My supervisor is unhelpful. She gave me the wrong information in the first interview and asked us about our work only once. I think she supposes to understand every single disable students and organizes shift.
2. I’m so lucky I’m not living with other volunteers because they are so disgusting such as getting drunk, smoking cannabis and having sex with each other. Today when we want to get the cheques, we need to sign a document. A few days ago the French volunteer (kenan) was smoking cannabis in the kitchen while he is on duty. They set the fire alarm off so the security came to his flat and checked it. And then the security reported it to the disability office. So he could not stay here anymore. Now we need to sign that we will not drink alcohol and take drugs when we are on duty and allowed the securities check it in the flat everyday.
The manager (Wendy) said she will tell the immigration office 10 of Jane I’m not working with CSV anymore. I was quite scared that I couldn’t come back to England from Egypt anymore. In England they have different types of VISA. Sometimes they will be very naughty. However, Wendy she said it should be no problem that I still can stay in England until the end of July. She gave me her name card in case I need her help.
